Carpet Cleaning Swiss Cottage Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Swiss Cottage provides professional carpet and related cleaning services to residential and commercial clients. By booking a service, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not book or proceed with any service.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Client means the individual, company or organisation booking or receiving cleaning services.

Company means Carpet Cleaning Swiss Cottage, the provider of the cleaning services.

Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or related services agreed between the Client and the Company, including but not limited to rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning and stain treatment.

Premises means the property or area where the Services are to be carried out.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet and related cleaning Services within Swiss Cottage and surrounding areas. The specific Services to be delivered, including the type of cleaning, areas to be cleaned and any additional treatments, will be agreed at the time of booking. The Company reserves the right to refuse or modify any booking where the requested work is unsafe, unsuitable, or beyond the scope of its standard operations.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that the description of the Premises and the work required is accurate and complete at the time of booking. Any significant deviation from the information provided may result in additional charges, rescheduling or refusal of service.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be made by the Client through the Company’s accepted communication channels. A booking is only confirmed when the Company has acknowledged the request, agreed a date, time and price, and, where applicable, received any required deposit or prepayment.

The Client must provide the following information when making a booking:

Full name or company name.

Service address and accurate description of the Premises.

Details of the Services required, including approximate room sizes or number of items.

Any known access restrictions, parking limitations, or specific requirements.

The Company will provide an estimated timeframe for the completion of the Services. This is an estimate only and may vary depending on the condition of the carpets and other factors on the day of service.

4. Access and Parking

The Client must ensure that the Premises are accessible at the agreed date and time. This includes providing correct address details, entry instructions and any necessary keys or codes. If the Company’s cleaners are unable to gain access or are unreasonably delayed due to access issues, a call-out fee or cancellation charge may apply.

The Client is responsible for arranging suitable parking for the Company’s vehicle, where required, and for covering any parking fees or charges incurred during the provision of the Services. If parking is not available or is significantly restricted, this may affect the ability of the Company to deliver the Services as planned.

5. Client Responsibilities Before Cleaning

Before the start of the Services, the Client must, as far as reasonably practicable:

Remove small furniture, valuables, fragile items and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned.

Secure or move any items that may be damaged by moisture or cleaning solutions.

Inform the Company of any pre-existing damage, stains, loose fittings, wear or defects in carpets, underlay, flooring or furniture.

Ensure that there is adequate lighting, electricity and water supply available at the Premises.

The Company will not be liable for damage to items that should reasonably have been removed or protected by the Client prior to the commencement of the Services.

6. Pricing and Estimates

All prices are provided based on the information supplied by the Client and the Company’s current rate structure. The Company may provide prices as fixed quotes or as estimates. Where an estimate is given, the final cost may vary to reflect the actual condition and size of the carpets or items cleaned.

The Company reserves the right to adjust the price if:

The Premises or items are significantly larger or more soiled than described.

Additional rooms, areas or items are requested on the day.

There are unforeseen access issues that increase the time or resources required.

All prices are inclusive or exclusive of any applicable taxes as clearly communicated by the Company at the time of booking.

7. Payments

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services. The Company may accept various methods of payment, which will be notified to the Client in advance.

For certain bookings, including larger or commercial jobs, the Company may require a deposit or advance payment. Deposits are generally non-refundable unless otherwise specified or where the Company cancels the booking without fault on the part of the Client.

Where payment is not made on the day of service, invoices are payable within the period specified on the invoice. The Company reserves the right to charge interest and administration fees on overdue amounts and to suspend further services until payment is received.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company as much notice as possible. Specific notice periods may apply and will be communicated by the Company. As a general rule, cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.

The Company may, at its discretion, waive or reduce cancellation charges in cases of genuine emergency, severe illness or other exceptional circumstances, but is under no obligation to do so.

The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where:

Access to the Premises is not possible or is unsafe.

Weather or other events beyond the Company’s control prevent safe delivery of the Services.

The Client has provided incomplete or misleading information.

Any staff safety issue arises or is reasonably anticipated.

Where the Company cancels without fault on the part of the Client, any deposit or prepayment taken for that booking will be refunded or applied to a new agreed booking.

9. Service Quality and Limitations

The Company aims to deliver services to a high professional standard. However, the Client acknowledges and accepts that:

Some stains, odours or damage may be permanent and cannot be fully removed or remedied.

Results vary depending on carpet material, age, wear, type of stain and previous cleaning or treatment.

Drying times vary and depend on ventilation, temperature and carpet type; the Company cannot guarantee specific drying times.

The Client agrees to follow any aftercare advice provided by the Company, including guidance on walking on damp carpets, ventilation and furniture placement.

10. Health and Safety

The Company operates in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements. The Client agrees to cooperate with any reasonable requests made by the Company in order to protect the safety of staff, occupants and visitors while the Services are being carried out.

Chemicals and equipment used are selected with professional care. The Client should notify the Company in advance of any known allergies, sensitivities or health concerns that may be relevant to the provision of the Services.

11. Waste Regulations and Environmental Compliance

The Company complies with relevant environmental and waste regulations for the collection, handling and disposal of waste produced in the course of providing the Services. This may include the disposal of extracted dirt, contaminated water and used consumables in a lawful and responsible manner.

The Client is responsible for the lawful disposal of any general household or commercial waste, furniture or items that are not part of the cleaning process. The Company is not a general waste removal service and will not remove bulky items, hazardous materials or controlled waste unless expressly agreed and permitted under applicable regulations.

Where the Services involve handling of waste that falls under specific regulatory controls, additional charges, documentation and procedures may apply. The Client agrees to disclose any such issues in advance so that the Company can determine whether it is able to proceed in compliance with all applicable requirements.

12. Damage and Liability

The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care when providing the Services. In the unlikely event of damage caused directly by the Company’s negligence, the Company may, at its discretion:

Repair the damage, or

Arrange for a professional repair, or

Offer fair compensation taking account of the age and condition of the damaged item.

The Client must report any alleged damage or loss to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within 48 hours of the Services being completed. The Client must allow the Company reasonable access and opportunity to inspect the issue before any repair or replacement is undertaken by a third party.

The Company will not be liable for:

Wear, discolouration or defects that become more visible after cleaning.

Damage resulting from pre-existing weakness, wear, loose seams, fraying, fading or poor installation.

Shrinkage of carpets or fabrics where the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions have not been made available or have been disregarded in the past.

Consequential or indirect loss, such as loss of profit, loss of opportunity or inconvenience.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Insurance

The Company maintains insurance cover appropriate to the nature of its cleaning operations. Details of insurance cover can be made available to the Client upon reasonable request. The existence of insurance does not extend or increase the Company’s liability beyond that set out in these Terms and Conditions and any applicable law.

14. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If the Client is not satisfied with any aspect of the Services, the Client should notify the Company as soon as possible, giving clear details of the issue. The Company will investigate and, where appropriate, may arrange a revisit or other remedial action.

The Client agrees to give the Company a reasonable opportunity to resolve any complaint before taking further steps. Both parties will use reasonable efforts to resolve disputes amicably. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the parties may seek independent advice or pursue their rights through the courts as permitted by law.

15. Personal Data and Privacy

The Company will collect and use personal data only as necessary to manage bookings, provide the Services and comply with legal obligations. Personal data may include names, contact details, service addresses and payment information. The Company takes reasonable steps to protect personal information and will not sell or misuse such data.

By booking Services, the Client consents to the use of their personal data for purposes connected with the provision of the Services and related administration. The Client may contact the Company to request access to, or correction of, their personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

16. Changes to Services and Terms

The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that particular booking. Any material changes will be published or otherwise made available to Clients in a clear and accessible manner.

The Company may also make reasonable changes to Services, pricing or availability in response to operational needs, regulatory requirements or market conditions. Where such changes affect an existing booking in a significant way, the Company will notify the Client and offer suitable alternatives, where possible.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with the provision of the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed severed from the remaining provisions, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written confirmation or agreement specific to a booking, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services. They supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter. No variation of these Terms and Conditions shall be effective unless agreed in writing by the Company.

By proceeding with a booking and allowing the Services to be carried out at the Premises, the Client confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
